GHiSA Image Licence

This Image Licence sets out the terms on which you may use images displayed on this website or otherwise provided to you by GHiSA (the Global Hidradenitis Suppurativa Atlas) ("Images"). By downloading or using any Images, you agree to the following terms and enter into a binding agreement with GHiSA.

These terms may be updated by us from time to time without prior notice. Updates take effect once posted on this website, and you are responsible for checking the current version before using any Images.

"GHiSA", "we", "us" and "our" refer to the Global Hidradenitis Suppurativa Atlas. "You" and "your" refer to you as a user of this website.

Intellectual Property

1. GHiSA owns, or holds a licence to, the copyright in the Images. Copyright in all Images remains with GHiSA or its licensors. Any rights not expressly granted under this Licence are reserved.

Permitted Use

2. GHiSA supports the use of its Images for educational and clinical-reference purposes. You may use and share Images made available on this website provided you comply with the following conditions:

• (a) Attribution – You must credit GHiSA and link back to the GHiSA page the Image was sourced from. A simple credit such as "Image sourced from GHiSA" with an active link is sufficient. Your use must not suggest GHiSA endorses you or your work.

• (b) Non-Commercial Use Only – Images may not be used for commercial purposes of any kind.

• (c) No Derivatives – You may not alter, crop, remix, or build upon an Image and then distribute the modified version.

• (d) No Publication – Images may not be reproduced or included in any publication, whether print or digital, including but not limited to journals, books, textbooks, newsletters, or other print or online media, without GHiSA's prior written permission.

• (e) No Watermark Removal – Any watermark present on an Image must not be removed, cropped out, or obscured.

Prohibited Use for AI Training

3. You may not use, upload, download, or otherwise distribute any Images obtained from this website for the purpose of training, testing, validating, or otherwise improving artificial intelligence or machine learning systems of any kind. This includes use as training data, fine-tuning data, or evaluation data for such systems. Any breach of this clause will be treated as a material breach of this Licence and may result in legal action.

Warranties and Liability

4. GHiSA warrants that your use of Images in their original, unaltered form, in accordance with this Licence, will not infringe the copyright of any third party.

5. Subject to clause 4, Images are provided "as is" without any other warranty. While GHiSA takes reasonable care to ensure Images are accurately labelled and categorised, GHiSA makes no guarantee of accuracy or currency and accepts no liability for reliance on that information.

6. You agree to indemnify GHiSA, its officers, contributors, and employees against any costs, losses, damages, or expenses arising from your breach of this Licence.

7. To the extent permitted by law, GHiSA is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss or damage, including lost profits or business losses, arising from your use of the Images.

Termination

8. GHiSA may terminate this Licence immediately, upon written notice, if you breach any term of it.

9. On termination, you must:

• (a) Stop Use – immediately stop using the affected Images;

• (b) Delete Copies – delete or destroy any copies in your possession; and

• (c) Confirm – confirm this in writing to GHiSA, if requested.

General

10. Notices under this Licence must be in writing. Notices to GHiSA should be sent to info@ghisa.org.

11. You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under this Licence without GHiSA's prior written consent.

12. This Licence may only be amended in writing, agreed by GHiSA.

13. If any part of this Licence is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.

14. GHiSA's failure to enforce any right under this Licence is not a waiver of that right.

15. Nothing in this Licence creates an agency, partnership, or joint venture between you and GHiSA.

16. This Licence is the entire agreement between you and GHiSA regarding use of the Images.

17. This Licence is governed by the laws of Denmark, and disputes arising from this Licence are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Danish courts.
